While the threat for severe weather may have ended festivities early, the 88th Tulip Time in festival featured one of the biggest — if not the biggest, Thursday crowds on record, and five of the six parades over the past three days.

There will be some tabulating to do to confirm any records, according to Tulip Time Steering Committee Co-Chair Joel Bennett, but he’s thankful for those who celebrated in Pella and enjoyed this year’s festival.
