Knoxville Boys Golf Wins Gilbert Invitational

A week after being edged in its own invitational, Knoxville Boys Golf Squad edged out Gilbert in the Tigers invitational on Saturday to claim first place with a 307. Evan Smith continued his medallist streak with an even par 71 at the Ames Golf and Country Club. Other scores were Carson Uitermarkt with a 78, Noah Keefer and Kail Arkema both with a 79, Beau Leisure scored an 80 Urban Ziller carded an 88, Brady Roozeboom carded a 91 and Dakota Ramsey scored a 97. The Panthers now turn their attention to the money meets with the first one being Monday at the South Central Conference meet in Moravia.

Knoxville Boys Tennis 0-3 At Ottumwa

The Knoxville Boys Tennis Squad went 0-3 at the Ottumwa Invitational on Saturday. The Panthers fell to Maharishi 8-1, Ottumwa 9-0 and Oskaloosa 5-4. Coach Kevin Wadle told KNIA/KRLS Sports his guys played to the end even though there was not a lot of winning. Wadle adds he is seeing more fight in his team event when they are not on the winning side, and that is the biggest thing right now.

Wadle: “I don’t have an illusion on the outcome and get as many games as they cna. I’m seeing my guys continue to fight, and even when we’re not winning, we’re still fighting to the final point.”

The Panthers will head to the district on Monday hosted by Pella Christian.

Knoxville Girls Soccer Falls To West Central Valley

The Knoxville Girls Soccer Squad fell to West Central Valley on Saturday 2-0. Both goals were scored in the 2nd half by the Wolverines. The Panthers are now 6-6 on the season and will host Clarke on Monday as part of a girl/boys double header at Randy Wilson Track starting at 5:30.
