The Indianola Fire Department held their annual Open House and Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, raising money for a LUCAS Device. Fire Captain Thad White tells KNIA News a LUCAS Device performs chest compressions, which frees up personnel on medical calls to perform other important tasks such as placing IV’s, providing medications, and airway management among others.

The department partnered with the Indianola Noon Lions for the event, who helped with supplies and volunteered in the event fire department personnel were needed on a call. Find photos of the event below.
