Faith Roozeboom won her 2nd South Central Conference Individual Golf Title shooting an 87 on the Edmundson Golf Course in Oskaloosa on Tuesday helping her team place 4th overall. Roozeboom also became a three-time all-conference performer. The Panthers shot a 428, which was a goal for the team to shoot a 440 for 18 holes. Coach Barry Smith was proud of his team for the round and told KNIA/KRLS Sports his goal during the meets is not to let the girls get to worked up about a hole or shot, and to keep everything in perspective.

Smith: “That’s a coaching mindset is to keep the girls loose. It works sometimes and sometimes it doesn’t but just to keep in mind if they hit a bad shot, to move on to the next one.”

Hayden Hudson shot a 115, carding a 51 through nine holes., which was a career best, Braylee Mason shot a 118 while Caelie Smith scored a 111 and Iselynn Prevo turned in a 115. The girls will have one final regular season meet, as the Panthers host Pella, Carlisle and Oskaloosa at Pine Knolls Country Club on Friday. Today, meanwhile it is the boys turn to get back on the links as the Panthers start their journey to where they hope is back to the State Meet for the 3rd straight year with the Sectional in Williamsburg.
