The Pella Christian boys golf team won the Class 1A Sectional meet they hosted Wednesday with a team score of 325, while the Pleasantville boys took third place with a 375 and both teams advanced to the District Meet next week.
The Eagles dominated the individual leaderboard in the meet, claiming the top-four finishes on the day. Eliot Menninga and Isaiah Breems each shot a 79 to take the top-two spots, with Menninga getting the medalist honors and Breems being the runner-up. Dane Geetings was the third-place finisher with an 83, while Cooper Spronk came in fourth with an 84. Rounding out the day for the Eagles was Landon Fransman and Deacon Branderhorst with an 89 and a 91 respectively.
Leading the way for the Trojans boys golfers were Lincoln Card and Caylor Jones, who each posted a 91 at Bos Landen Golf Course. Ryder Thill had Pleasantville’s third lowest round with a 95, and not far behind were Jaxx Lovell and Lukas Klootwyk who each posted a 98. Kayne Brent wrapped up the scoring for the Trojans on the day with a 112.
With the finishes at the Sectional Meet, both the Pella Christian and Pleasantville boys golf teams advance to the District Meet hosted by Mediapolis on Monday at Heritage Oaks Golf Course in Wapello.
