The Indianola School Board approved the district to take part in the GovDeals program, a state run program that allows school districts to get rid of surplus equipment that is no longer needed. Superintendent Ted Ihns tells KNIA News the approval of the program was a no-brainer, as the district will no longer have to have unused items sit in storage.

“It’s an opportunity where we can just go on that, and that will be a spot where they take our surplus items. It’s one of those deals where it is a one-stop shop, we can get rid of it all right then and there, we aren’t trying to throw it out there for 20 different people and no one wants it. It’s a spot where hopefully we can get rid of it and not have it take up space in our storage areas.”
