The Knoxville School Board met in regular session Monday evening and one of the first matters on the agenda was recognizing the School Board for National School Board Recognition Month.

Knoxville Superintendent Cassi Pearson tells KNIA/KRLS News. “We are so grateful for our school board members, they are elected officials and do this out of the goodness of their heart. They want to make a difference for kids and our community. There is no compensation that they receive for being school board members. They give a lot of time and energy and are really dedicated to making sure that our students, our families, our staff and our community have the best opportunities for high level education.”

Members of the Knoxville School Board are President Cheri Gerdes, Vice President Monica Sullivan and board members David Smith, Larry Scott and Larissa Van Donselaar.
