The Supreme Court of Iowa released notification that it affirmed a Polk County District Court decision to dismiss a civil case filed by Jason Carter. The case was dismissed Friday, May 12.

Carter lost a civil trial in which a jury found him to be responsible for the death of his mother. He was then charged with her murder, but acquitted by a different jury. He had filed a civil lawsuit against the State of Iowa and Special Agent Mark Ludwig alleging that Agent Ludwick wrongly inserted himself into the civil case and intentionally, but wrongly, targeted Carter as his mother’s killer. 

Defendants filed a motion to dismiss the case Jason Carter filed before issuing an answer.
