The Knoxville City Council met in regular session Monday. Mayor Brian Hatch opened the meeting by reading Proclamations to recognize National EMS Week (May 21-27), National Police Week (May 14-20) and National Public Works Week (May 21-27). There will be an open house May 23 from 5-7 p.m. at the city fire department.
The council heard a resolution for Amending a Restated 28E Agreement between the City Of Knoxville and Marion County Regarding The Redevelopment of The Veterans’ Affairs Property. It was approved by council, so for Phase 1 of development the county will deed the land over to the city.
Another resolution was approving a Development Agreement Between The City of Knoxville and Origin Homes, LLC, Regarding The Sale And Development of Lots Located In the area known as The Veterans’ Administration District, which was also approved.
Origin Homes is purchasing five of the smaller lots in the district for a discounted price of $22,000 per lot.
A Real Estate Agent to represent the City In The Sale Of Phase I Lots In the Veterans District was approved. Sundance Realty was selected out of five proposals received by the city. Sundance’s fee will be $1,700 per lot.
Storefront Improvement Grants for 11 addresses were approved out of 13 submissions received by the city.
