In a busy first week of the season, the Dutch baseball team earned their first loss of 2023 after winning on opening day, dropping a contest to Bondurant-Farrar 4-2 Tuesday.
Offensively, the Dutch came out with three hits and scored two runs in the first inning, but only managed one more hit over the next six innings. Defensively, four errors led to three unearned runs in the middle to late parts of the game. Caleb Stewart pitched six solid innings, allowing 5 hits, 3 runs (1 earned) with 9 strikeouts. Tate Weesner had two hits and Joe Bokhoven drove in two runs in the first inning.
Pella remains at home for the third consecutive game this evening against Centerville.
