Simpson College head men’s wrestling coach Dylan Peters announced the hiring of national champion Zane Mulder as the program’s top assistant coach. Mulder comes to Simpson from Wartburg College, where he concluded his collegiate career by winning the 174-pound title at the 2023 NCAA DIII Championships in Roanoke, Va. He was a two-time national finalist and three-time All-American in his three seasons with the Knights after transferring from Iowa State University. At the conclusion of his senior campaign, Mulder was named the American Rivers Conference Co-Most Valuable Wrestler with teammate Massoma Endene. He was also an all-conference selection in 2021 and 2022. For his efforts in the classroom, Mulder earned three Scholar All-American awards from the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) during his career.
