The Class 1A #14 ranked Pella Christian girls soccer team opened regional action in dominant fashion Wednesday night, defeating Columbus Junction 9-0 on Eagle Lane.

It was the Eagles’ second blowout this season versus the Wildcats, as they won the previous meeting 8-0 in Burlington on April 29th. Joslyn and Lexi Terpstra and Esther Ford each had two goals, with Joslyn adding three assists and Esther recording an assist in the win. Jenna Edel and Hattie Fancher each also contributed a goal in the winning effort. In addition to the blowout, the Eagles set the school record for single season assists, as Carly Huyser connected with Joslyn for the game’s second goal and Carly’s first assist of the season.

Pella Christian improved to 11-5-1 and moved into second-place in school history for single season wins. The Eagles advance to face Class 1A #13 ranked Panorama in the semifinal round of regionals on Tuesday, May 23rd at Panorama High School.
