Pella Christian Senior Isaac Kacmayrnski was a recipient of the 2023 Ed Thomas Award. The honor is named for the late Aplington-Parkersburg coach, a legend in Iowa High School football that was killed by a former player in 2009. Since then, the Iowa Football Coaches Association has honore d a player in each class who best demonstrates the qualities and characteristics that Coach Thomas represented. Kacmarynski was a 2022 Class 1A First Team All-State selection, leading the Eagles to the 1A state quarterfinals, and is racing this weekend at Drake Stadium in the State Track and Field Meet.
