The PCM boys soccer team will try to pull off a major upset Monday night in the Class 1A Substate 7 semifinals against Class 1A #3 ranked Des Moines Christian, while the Mustangs softball team opens the 2023 campaign and Heart of Iowa Conference play against Nevada.

The PCM soccer team defeated Grand View Christian 2-1 in the first round of substate to advance to Monday night’s semifinal round against the ranked Lions. The Mustangs and Des Moines Christian ended their regular seasons against one another on May 12th, with the Lions grabbing a 7-1 win. 

Beginning their season Monday, the PCM softball team is hoping to continue their dominant stretch against Nevada since 2010. The Mustangs hold a 21-6 advantage over the Cubs since June of 2010, and are 4-0 in the series over the last two seasons.

The PCM substate boys soccer game at Des Moines Christian High School Monday night begins at 6:30 p.m., while first pitch for the Mustangs softball game at home against Nevada is scheduled for 7 p.m.
