The Knoxville School Board met in regular session Monday. Stacy Trevillyn who teaches four-year-olds in Knoxville at the Little Panther Preschool was recognized by the Knoxville Masonic Lodge as the School Teacher of the Year.

On the agenda was a review of the Knoxville Community School District Strategic Plan, changes and survey results. Also considered was electrical upgrades for Randy Wilson Track from Ardent Lighting. The lighting project was tabled until the next board meeting in June.

The board considered a resolution for a public hearing, considered policies 2nd and 3rd readings and considered a special board meeting which were approved. A special meeting will be set for Tuesday, May 30, at 6:30 p.m. At the meeting will be a discussion on the lights at the track, overnight trips and two students for discipline.

The board went into closed session regarding the sale of real estate at the old administration building at 309 West Main. John Pierschbacher has expressed interest in purchasing the building for $380.000 dollars.

Two hirings and two resignations are also on the agenda. The last day of school will be today.
