The track and field events continue today at Buxton Stadium on the Simpson College campus for the annual Veterans Affairs National Golden Age Games, an annual event hosted by the US Department of Veterans Affairs as part of a program to help keep veterans active and healthy. Golden Age Games Director Brittany Hook tells KNIA News the event could not happen as smoothly as it does every year without the support from community partners and volunteers.

“We just definitely want to give a big shoutout to all the volunteers, especially those in Indianola who have stepped up and supported the National Veterans Golden Age Games in big ways. As far as volunteering for years in the future, folks can visit our website. That will show future year events and will highlight volunteer opportunities that are available.”
