Softball falls
The Pleasantville varsity softball team lost their home and season opener Tuesday night to the Chariton Chargers 10-2.
Trojan Coach Alee Phillips said “I feel like the score makes the game seem worse than it was. They were a good hitting team that had a lot of solid hits. Our defense did pretty good but gave up too many easy outs for errors. We can’t do that against a solid batting team. Those errors cost us runs.”
We had two solid hits by Ashlyn McConnell and Danika Park that got momentum rolling for us at the start. Then we had an RBI fly by Sydney Septer to keep the team moving.
The Trojans play tonight against Pella Christian at 7 p.m. on the road. The game will be broadcast on 92.1 KRLS.
