The Knoxville Public Library will be hosting an event today titled Lawyers in  Libraries, Celebrating Older Iowans.

Heather Libby the Adult Services Librarian, tells KNIA/KRLS News, “This is a joint effort between quite a few organizations in the state. The Iowa State Bar Association, the State Library of Iowa, Iowa Legal Aid and the Polk County Bar Association. They are all coming together to help provide free legal information to Iowans across the state.”

Some of the items on the program include financial power of attorney, health care power of attorney, living wills, and the Final Disposition Act.

Lawyers are going to visit local public libraries throughout the spring to make one hour presentations. Followed by a session for questions and answers.

The event will be today at 6 p.m.
