The class 1A #13 Twin Cedars Softball Squad gave 1A #2 Martensdale-St. Mary’s a fight, but the Blue Devils prevailed 4-0 on Wednesday. The Sabers could not solve Martensdale’s pitcher Campbell German, however Rylee Dunkin had a hit, a walk and two stolen bases, and Kennedi Ford added a single. Jillian French took the loss giving up four runs while walking three and striking out three. The baseball Sabers played a wild affair against East Union ultimately falling in a score that resembled a slow pitch softball game 18-14. The Sabers jumped out to an 11-3 lead in the 1st inning and looked like they were in cruise control, but the Eagles chipped away and regained the lead with seven runs in the top of the 6th inning. Holden Roberts was 3/4r with two RBI…while Gavin Clark had four RBI. The game came down to free bases as Twin Cedars issued 12 walks and committed six errors. The Sabers take on Moravia on Friday.
