Eagles Roose and Van Arendonk Compete At Individual State Tournament Today
A busy spring at Pella Christian wraps up over the next two days as the girls tennis duo of Katy Roose and Sydney Van Arendonk compete at the Class 1A State Doubles Tennis Tournament today and Saturday. Competing at Byrnes Park Tennis Center in Waterloo, the Eagles tandem opens play against the doubles team of Rachel Hollen and Isabella Nelson from Columbus Catholic at 10 a.m. Regardless of the result of their first match, Roose and Van Arendonk will then turn around and play at 12 p.m. against either Decorah’s Haley Gossman and Annalise Skrade or Estherville Lincoln Central’s Jersie Nitchals and Kennedy Paul.
Pella Christian Baseball and Softball Host Rival Lions Tonight
Welcoming rival Des Moines Christian to Eagle Lane, the Pella Christian baseball and softball teams are back in action tonight. The Eagles baseball team is 7-4 against the Lions in the Bound era and were victorious in the matchup between the two teams last season 15-2. The Pella Christian softball team holds an 8-4 advantage over Des Moines Christian in the Bound era and dominated last season’s meeting between the two schools 17-0. First pitch for the softball game between the Eagles and Lions is scheduled for 7:15 p.m., while the baseball game is set to get underway at 7:30 p.m.
