The Marion County Conservation Department is hosting a Building Better Birders and Citizen Scientists Workshop at the Cordova Park office building, 1378 Highway G28, Otley.
For the past two years, Kelly McKay, along with Clinton County Conservation and Nahant Marsh Education Center have been presenting a program designed to create a citizenry with better bird identification skills and to promote participants getting involved with local citizen science projects.
The schedule starts June 7 with a bird hike on the Karr Trail from 7 a.m. until 10 a.m. There will be a break and questions from 10 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. From 10:30 a.m. until noon is an Upland Forest Birds/powerpoint presentation. From noon until 1 p.m. lunch will be served.
Funding for the workshop was provided by Resource Enhancement and Protection-Conservation Education Program.
