An Honor Flight will carry local Vietnam Veterans from Marion County to Washington, D.C., in early June.
Dave McCombs, from Bussey, has helped get the trip put together. According to McCombs there are 10 people from Marion County on the Honor Flight; all are Vietnam Veterans.
The veterans include Terry Harvey from Knoxville and his brother Rick Harvey from Branson, Missouri, Steve Finch, Sonny Spaur and Dave McCombs from Bussey, Dean Hoy and Dennis Myers from Attica, Bill Pinegar and Robert Pinegar from Marysville and Alfred Tilly from Knoxville.
McCombs tells KNIA/KRLS News about going on the trip, “I’m really excited to go.”
The Honor Flight will leave from Waterloo to Washington D.C, June 6. The flight will leave at 6 a.m. and it returns the same day around 10 or 10:30 p.m.
Some of the sites on the trip are the World War I and World War II Memorials, the Vietnam Memorial, Arlington Cemetery, and a bus tour around Washington D.C.
