The Pleasantville Trojan varsity baseball team won the Coon Rapids Baseball Tournament Saturday.
Pleasantville won the opener of the tournament Saturday over Bedford 3-2 behind the pitching of Peyton Major who threw 76 pitches in the game. In the opener Caleb Cook was 2-of-4 at the plate as was Braylon Binigham, who also had two RBIs.
In game two the Trojans knocked off No. 8 ranked Coon Rapids 5-4. Caylor Jones was the winning pitcher against Coon Rapids. The game was tied at 4-4 entering the bottom of the seventh. The Trojans got the win when Jonah Schumacher scored on a walk-off squeeze bunt by Tyler Gibson.
Pleasantville is now 9-2 overall and they will play again Monday against Des Moines Christian on the road.
