The Pella Public Library is partnering with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach to offer a Produce Basics workshop. The event will be held on Thursday, June 8th from 2:00-4:00 p.m. in the Pella Public Library Meeting Room.
The workshop will cover safe gardening practices and how to store, clean, prepare, and preserve various fresh fruits and vegetables. Both consumers and growers can increase
their confidence in handling, storage, and preparation of fresh produce. The Pella Farmer’s Market will be starting in the Pella town square at 4:00 p.m., immediately following the event.
There is no cost to attend this workshop, but registration is encouraged by searching “Produce Basics Pella” online, or by contacting the library at 641-628-4268. Walk-Ins are also welcome on the day of the program. This program is free and open to the public.
