The PCM softball team punctuated a 16-1 road win at South Hamilton Wednesday night with an 11-run seventh inning, while the Mustangs baseball team shut out the Hawks for a 4-0 victory. 

The Mustangs softball team used 11 hits, five walks, four hit batters, and three errors to earn the blowout win in Jewell. Freshman Rylee Parsons struck out 10 batters to record her 100th career punch out while picking up her sixth victory of the season and surrendering just one unearned run on five hits. Paige Steenhoek and Ella Schendel each recorded three RBIs on the night as PCM improved to 6-4 overall and 5-2 in Heart of Iowa Conference play.

Trenner VanDyke and Nick Farver headlined the Mustangs win over South Hamilton on the baseball diamond, combining to throw a one-hitter in the win. VanDyke recorded the win in five innings of work on the mound, striking out 10 while allowing just three baserunners. Farver finished the game with two strikeouts and two walks, while leading the PCM offense with two hits and two RBIs. The Mustangs baseball squad improved to 6-6 overall and 5-2 in the conference. 

The PCM baseball team is back in action tonight, hosting Knoxville at 7:30 p.m., before rejoining the softball team for Heart of Iowa Conference play Friday at Nevada.
