A family in Pella who lost a young child this past winter in a sledding accident is trying to establish a legacy of service in the wake of tragedy.
Andy and Kristi Zellmer are organizing Milly Moo’s Hugs for the Humane Society, a benefit to be held on Saturday, June 24th at Smash Park in Pella. The event from 5 to 9 p.m. that evening will benefit the Marion County Humane Society to honor Milly Zellmer’s love for animals.
Milly was a five year old girl and Lincoln Elementary student who died on Thursday, February 16th after the Pella Police Department says she was hit by a truck when she entered the roadway while riding a sled. In addition to the event being held at Smash Park, an Amazon Wishlist has been set up by the family to benefit the Marion County Humane Society.
