A big crowd packed downtown Pella as Thursdays in Pella celebrated the rich tradition of racing in the region. Race drivers from seven Central Iowa race tracks were on hand to display their race cars and meet their fans, hosting several activities and games for kids, and giving out many prizes and snacks.
“The Pella Race night just keeps getting bigger,” says Cutter. “Central Iowa racing is a mecca for so many different types of racing in the Midwest. It’s been exciting to see all the different racing facilities come on board to support this one night, where race fans can come to one place and meet drivers from sprint cars, to stock cars, to drag cars to kids’ karts.”
In addition to the 50 entries showcased, Pella Motors, Pella Regional Health Center, Knoxville Fire Rescue team, Hy-Vee and others also had booths on display. Drivers were interviewed on the Tulip Toren next to the KNIA/KRLS Lil’ Big Red Radio.
