The class 1A #15 Twin Cedars Softball squad swept a double header from Murray on Friday. The Sabers took care of the Mustangs in game one 8-1 and breezed by Murray in the nightcap 11-5. The Sabers jumped on Murray early in game one putting up four runs. In the 2nd game, the Sabers again struck for four runs in the 1st, but it was tied at five after two innings, but two, in the 4th, one in the 5h and three more in the 6th clinched the game. One thing the Sabers are doing this season they have not done a lot in the past is steal bases. Coach Zack Dunkin tells KNIA/KRLS Sports they have had to play the steal game, due to not having the potent offensive lineup they have had in the past.
Dunkin: “Maybe taking some more chances than what I’ve had in the past. We got girls on, then a gapper or home runs would get them around, and this year, the girls have adapted and are getting good jumps.”
Twin Cedars is now 9-3 on the season.
