The Pleasantville varsity baseball team captured the Colo-Nesco Championship Saturday. The Trojans beat Gladbrook-Reinbeck 8-5 and West Central Valley 8-6 to win the title.
In game one, Caylor Jones was the winning pitcher. Caleb Cook had a two-RBI single, Logan Roff an RBI single and Brayden Kennedy was 2-of 2 with a 2-run home run.
In game two, Peyton Major earned the win on the mound and Edwin Escalante the save. Cook scored three runs and Dylan Aldrich was 3-of-5 at the plate with a double. Kennedy had an RBI single and Jonah Schumacher an RBI single after joining the team from the state trap meet.
The Trojans improved to 14-4 overall and will play Van Meter at home Monday at 7 p.m.
