The Elks Lodge in Indianola is hosting a Flag Day Ceremony on Wednesday, a tradition going back over 100 years that will feature the history of the flags of the United States in addition to having local speakers. Event Chair Gene Buckley tells KNIA News the Elks Lodge is inviting the community to come participate in the ceremony, and will detail not only the flag we think of as the official flag, but flags from before the country was founded, the flag from the War of 1812, the POW/MIA Flag that recognizes prisoners of war and those missing in action, and more. The ceremony will be on June 14th at the Elks Lodge on the north side of the square on the patio beginning at 5:30pm. For more information, tune in to today’s Let’s Talk Indianola.
