The Marion County Board of Supervisors met Tuesday.

On the agenda was a discussion about the proposed Pella Recreation Center. The new facility will cost around $51 million and the city of Pella is looking for financial assistance from Marion County.

A discussion on the Junction 92 Project was discussed with it being suggested that with Tyler Christian, Marion County Engineer cutting $2.4 million out of the budget for the project, the county is looking at paying $6 million in cash over the next two years from Local Option Sales Tax, the General Fund, ARPA and from the road department funds, according to Supervisor Mark Raymie.

Discussion took place on the Home Based Iowa Program with discussion closed without any action. The board looked for a resolution on Future Land use Plan regarding Highway Commercial Land Use Plan which was approved.
 

There was a public hearing and ordinances on amending proposed zoning maps. There was an ordinance for final approval amending the zoning map. There was a discussion on relocation of an anhydrous ammonia tank for Agriland FS on Quaker Drive which was approved.

The board looked for a resolution of fiscal year 2022-2023 General Fund Improvement Fund Transfer of $50,000. Appointments for Veterans Affair Commission, Jodi Marti and Pella Library Board Trustee, Kristi Leonard were both approved. 

A discussion was held for 104 South 6th Street with a notice to be sent to the occupant. A DOT Agreement for Highway 163 Sideroad was approved for widening. An agreement with  Adkins Specialized Carriers LLC and city of Pleasantville saw no action taken.
