Both Twin Cedars Baseball and Softball Squad had easy wins over rival Melcher-Dallas on Tuesday as baseball won 14-4 and softball breezed 16-0. In the baseball contest the Sabers jumped ahead with 13 runs in the first two innings led by Chase Rozenboom’s three RBIs, while Kasey Clark drove in two, Braxton Davis, and Blake Micetich also had two RBIs. Gavin Clark got the win going 3 2/3 striking out five. The Saints were able to get three runs in the 5th. Logan Godfrey, Max Enfield, Trevor Hoch, and Reece Chibotta had one RBI each. Mason DeJong took the loss. On the softball diamond, the Sabers were relentless in a three inning game. Jillian French went 3/3 at the plate with four-RBI, while allowing just one hit and striking out three batters. Kisha Reed was 2/2 and drove in four runs. Emma Clark took the loss for the Saints. The Sabers are off until Thursday when they travel to Orient-Macksburg for Softball while baseball hosts Chariton. Both Saints squads are off until Thursday when they host Moravia.
