The Warren County Republican Party Central Committee has passed a unanimous resolution in support of the Warren County Board of Supervisors selection of David Whipple to serve as Interim Auditor of Warren County. The Warren County Democratic Party has announced they are gathering signatures to force a special election for the position, supporting current Deputy Auditor Kim Sheets. The resolution features business and training success Whipple has achieved in the private sector, and that forcing the special election would be a waste of taxpayer dollars.

Resolution:

WHEREAS, on June 6, 2023, the Warren County Board of Supervisors unanimously selected David Whipple to be the Interim Auditor of Warren County, and

WHEREAS, David Whipple attended the AIB College of Business where he received the Student of the Term Award in recognition for academic excellence, graduated Summa Cum Laude with a perfect 4.0 GPA, and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration, and

WHEREAS, at the AIB College of Business his final project to earn his business degree was a strategic audit of Casey’s Corporation from Ankeny, Iowa. This project entailed contrasting and comparing the budget year over year. Everything had to be categorized for the different areas of revenue. He scheduled and recorded an interview with Casey’s-then CFO Bill Walljasper and published this conversation in his report. This project took two terms to complete due to the amount of work involved, and he received 100% for a grade with the comment from the instructor that it was the most detailed audit she had received, and

WHEREAS, prior to his selection as Interim Auditor he was employed as a field operations manager for EFCO Corporation, a company specializing in manufacturing, designing, engineering, drafting, shipping, and providing support for construction projects around the world. His responsibilities included writing the training curriculum and then training and developing 34 Field Supervisors, training all new hire employees, providing technical advice and service for the more complex mega EFCO projects throughout the world, and participating in research and development for new products, special projects and field trials, and

WHEREAS, he also has experience as an inventory control specialist, and with managing budgets and work quality, tracking invoices, work scheduling, and giving approval for payments,

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Warren County Republican Central Committee expresses its full support for the unanimous decision by the Warren County Board of Supervisors to select David Whipple as the Interim Auditor of Warren County, and believes that it would be a waste of taxpayer dollars to hold a special election in this matter.
