The Indianola School Board met in regular session Tuesday, their first regular meeting after approving the teacher contract. Superintendent Ted Ihns tells KNIA News the Indianola Education Association and the district agreed to a four-year deal, which gives both sides security moving forward.

“It gets that out of the way and allows people to get to their job of being a teacher or an associate. We did have to go through a mediation process at the end, but fortunately we came to a consensus of what’s going to happen. There isn’t much language change in the contract whatsoever, whatever was in the contract stayed in the contract. And we agreed upon the salary increases for four years for teachers and associates.”
