U.S. Senator Tim Scott is the latest among a round of Republican presidential candidates to stop in Pella ahead of the Iowa Caucuses.

The South Carolina native was at Sun Valley Barn Wednesday evening to discuss his run to be at the top of the GOP ticket in 2024. Scott discussed his upbringing and how he hopes to contrast against others running for the nomination.

“To have someone who saw the worst the challenges and atrocities and the depth of humanity in a negative way, look at as me as a kid struggling and remind me that because I’m American, because we live in the freest and fairest land on God’s green earth — that all things were possible.”
