The Des Moines Challenge Disc Golf Pro Tour event is back in Indianola for the third straight year beginning next Friday. Organizer Ty Tannatt tells KNIA News the event has grown substantially over the last several years, and they are seeing more and more support from not only local disc golf enthusiasts, but businesses, the City of Indianola, and the Indianola Chamber of Commerce among many others. Tannatt also said they are excited to bring multiple extra events this year to the competition, not just disc golf.

“On Friday night we are having an Ace Race as we like to call it, where 8-16 players will attempt to throw a 500-foot hole-in-one to win a Ford Bronco Sport from DeYarman Ford, and Saturday night we are having more special events including a charity kickball event. We are adding family friendly items this year, alternative events that go along with the disc golf so we can get people excited and out to the event.”

The Des Moines Challenge will be June 23-25 in Pickard Park. For more information, tune in to today’s Let’s Talk Indianola.
