The new Indianola location of the Many Hands Thrift Market is holding their grand opening this Saturday. Many Hands Director of Marketing Rob Van Beek tells KNIA News Indianola was chosen because of the community, and they felt that Indianola would be a perfect place to not only help serve, but because of the willingness of people to buy-in to the mission and help support what Many Hands will try to accomplish.
“When we are looking to come into a community, we really want to be transforming together and working together. So for us when coming into Indianola, we felt that. We felt that this is a place where we can do our ministry locally, but still have our global impact. So the people of Indianola who have needs can come here and shop knowing they are shopping with dignity. The people who have and the people who have not can be rubbing shoulders in the same place. We treat everybody the same, and everybody feels welcome.”
The KNIA Big Red Radio will be on location Saturday from 10am to noon, welcoming shoppers to the area and playing music, with a limited supply of free hot dogs, popcorn, and games among other activities. The store will be open Monday-Friday 10am to 7pm, Saturday from 9am to 5pm, and Sunday from 1-5pm. The store is located at 1801 West 2nd Avenue next to Dollar General, and is now open.
