melcher-dallas-7

The Melcher-Dallas Softball Squad ventured to Orient-Macksburg for three games on Saturday and came away with a 1-2 record. The Saints took on Murray in game one, and fell 9-6. While the Saints outhit the Mustangs 10-8, nine costly errors were their undoing. Summer Karpan led the hit parade with three while Paetyn Anderson had two RBI. Emma Clarke took the loss. 29 combined runs were scored in game two, but the Saints outlasted East Union 15-14. It was the 2nd time this week that Melcher-Dallas was involved in a game that resembled a slow pitch softball game. Both teams slugged the ball with 16 each a piece, but it was Melcher-Dallas who walked it off in the bottom of the 6th after being down 16-4 and in danger of being run-ruled, scored five in the 4th, two in the 5th and four more in the 6th. Anderson again added to her offensive day with four more RBI while Lotty Nolte picked up the victory in the circle. Game three started slowly again, as Lenox led 2-0, but three runs by Melcher-Dallas got it up 3-2, but the Saints failed to score again, losing 7-3. Summer Karpan went 2/4. Melcher-Dallas returns to action on Monday hosting East Union.
