The Knoxville Senior Center has received a $5,000 donation from the Weiler Foundation for the second straight year.

The donation from Weiler will help continue the Center’s efforts to provide nutritionally balanced meals to some of their most vulnerable senior citizens. The Senior Center serves up to 100 or more meals a day through delivery and congregate meals at the Center. Knoxville Senior Center Board Secretary Kay Bauer appreciates the generosity of Weiler and says that it reaffirms the work they do at the Center.

“It’s very heartwarming. It makes me feel like they’re helping us meet our mission and our goal, which is to provide nutritionally balanced meals to senior citizens in Knoxville and the surrounding area.”

The Knoxville Senior Center is located on East Montgomery Street in the basement of City Hall.  The center is open from 8:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. Monday-Thursday and meals are served at 11:30 a.m. each day.
