Class 3A #4 Knoxville Baseball Squad scored 24 runs in the two games of a varsity double header on Monday and continued its perfect record in the South Central Conference with a 12-0 and 12-5 sweep of Cardinal. The bats were alive all night as Beau Leisure went 3/4 with four RBI, Kade Bellon also had two hits plus two stolen bases. Koby Higginbotham was the winner on the mound going four innings with two strikeouts. In the nightcap, Trey Wight continued his hot hitting getting three hits with an RBI, Leisure with three hits and four RBI, while Higginbotham also had three hits with two doubles. Dakota Ramsey got the win in relief. Knoxville is now 24-1 and 15-0 in the SCC. Meanwhile, the Knoxville Softball Squad was limited to four hits and could not get any runners home in a 2-0 loss to Cardinal on Monday night. The Panthers also left five runners on base and struck out eight times. Getting one hit each was Brittany Bacorn, Marlea Cox, Addy Dunkin, Ralei Danner. The Comets were able to get both of their runs in the 3rd inning. Ciara Heffron took the loss going 2 2/3 innings allowing three hits and striking out three. Ashlyn Finarty pitched the last 3 1/3 allowing just one hit and striking out six. Knoxville is now 11-9 on the season and 5-3 in South Central Conference action.
