The Indianola City Council held a work session Monday evening, discussing the city ordinance regarding dangerous and vicious animals. City Manager Ben Reeves tells KNIA News the Indianola Police Department has been reviewing city ordinances to make sure they are up to date, and the discussion with the council and city staff centered around weighing the needs of animals and public safety.

“We want to make sure we have the right balance of enforceable laws on the books. So our police department has been taking a review on all ordinances, but specifically on the vicious animal ordinance. They are trying to better clarify the process that they follow when walking that fine line of dealing with animals in our community.”
