Following Monday’s groundbreaking at the Jefferson-Middle School connector, focus for DCI Group and construction crews across the Pella Community School District is progress with favorable weather in the forecast.

Superintendent Greg Ebeling says beyond work beginning on the $16.5 million project this summer between the two buildings, progress is being made district wide, including the painted tennis courts north of Caldwell Park and on getting the Early Childhood Center moving along to be enclosed by this winter.

Additionally, Ebeling says planning is underway for the renovation to the Pella Football Stadium. Overall, he believes the final budget for construction projects related to the November 2021 bond issue will approach $55 million, but also accomplish the vast majority of the goals set out in the original plan, with some adjustments to each component as bids have come in.
