A four run third inning wasn’t enough for the Pleasantville softball team Wednesday night, as they fell to Class 1A #3 ranked Southeast Warren 7-4.
The Warhawks plated a run in the top of the first inning and held that lead until the Trojans produced their big third inning. Pleasantville’s lead was short lived, with Southeast Warren tying the game with three runs in the fourth inning and taking the lead and win with three runs in the final two innings. Carly Cox was saddled with the complete game loss in the circle, allowing four earned runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out four. Ella Clark went 2-for-4 on the night at the plate, while Cox, Sydney Septer, and Laney Harvey recorded all of the Trojans RBIs in the loss.
The Pleasantville softball team fell to 7-16 overall on the season and they will try to bounce back tonight, as both Trojans summer sports teams travel to Madrid for West Central Conference doubleheaders.
