The Pleasantville baseball and softball teams were dominant in West Central Conference road sweeps at Madrid Thursday night.

The Trojans baseball team won their first game against the Tigers 6-0, before winning game two 10-0 in five innings. Caylor Jones picked the game one win, recording six strikeouts in six innings of work on the bump.  Caleb Cook, Jonah Schumacher, and Brayden Kennedy each posted 2 hits in the 6-0 win, while Braylon Bingham broke Pleasantville’s single season hit by pitch record with his 19th of the year. Bingham followed up breaking that record with four strikeouts in a complete game win on the mound in game two, while adding two hits to push the Trojans to 22-6 overall and 13-3 in the conference. 

The Pleasantville softball team played just six innings in the doubleheader at Madrid, cruising to 14-0 and 15-0 three-inning wins. Sydney Septer posted three singles in the game one victory, while Carly Cox, Madilyn Rowson, and Danika Park combined for seven RBIs. Septer followed up her 3-for-4 performance in the first game, by going 2-for-3 with four RBIs and a triple in the second game. Cox needed just 58 pitches to record both wins in the circle, allowing just two hits and a walk between the two games. The Trojans softball team improved to 9-16 overall and 8-8 in the league with the sweep. 

The Pleasantville softball team off until the North Mahaska tournament on Saturday morning, while the Trojans baseball team returns to the diamond on Monday with a home contest against Des Moines Christian.
