The Marion County Development Commission (MCDC) is leading the 2024 Marion County Comprehensive Housing Assessment, and they are inviting area organizations and businesses to sponsor the project.

The MCDC and local partners helped fund the first countywide housing assessment in 2016, which included individual geographic submarket data for Pella, Knoxville, Pleasantville, Melcher-Dallas and Bussey.  Maxfield Research, a leader in the Midwest in housing analysis, completed the study in 2016, and it led to several new housing developments throughout the county. The 2024 project will examine the housing needs by submarket areas for rental, for-sale, and senior housing. 

Organizations and businesses interested in becoming a sponsor for the 2024 housing assessment are asked to contact MCDC before July 7th at ceysink@marioncountyiowa.gov to receive additional information. The kick-off meeting is tentatively planned to be held in September.
