The Melcher-Dallas Softball Squad went 0-2 at the Coal Miners Invitational on Saturday losing game one to Montezuma 9-1 and falling in game two to Seymour 8-7. In game one, the Saints committed five errors and were held to just three hits with Jenna Mickey getting two of those hits for the Saints. Lotty Nolte took the loss, allowing six hits and striking out two. Game two was a thriller shortened by two innings due to weather as the Saints held a 5-1 lead, but errors again reared their ugly head and the Warriors took advantage of five more by Melcher-Dallas to post five runs in the 4th to take the lead for good. Nolte gave up eight hits and struck out four in the loss. Melcher-Dallas will host Seymour for the final game of the regular season on Tuesday.
