Freedom for Youth in Knoxville will hold their final two events in the month of June today and Wednesday for students in kindergarten through 12th grade.
Programs are divided into two groups. Kindergarten through 5th grade are a part of the Whiz-Kidz group, while grades six through 12 are a part of the Discovery Journey group. The final Drop-in-Days at the Freedom for Youth center, located at 107 South Third Street, is today from 1-5 p.m. for students in all grades. Wednesday will be the final Program in the Park at Auld Park’s West Shelter from 10 a.m.-12 p.m., and it includes games and crafts, a bible story, and lunch. Freedom for Youth Community Coordinator Angie Gentry says their events are centered on four principles.
“All of our programming focuses on four main pillars. It’s faith, education, employment and leadership skills.”
The events are free to all students in kindergarten through 12th grade, regardless of where they live.
