A round of early morning severe thunderstorms impacted northern Warren County Thursday, as wind gusts, heavy rain, and hail fell in Indianola, Norwalk, Cumming, and further west into Madison County before the storm dwindled as it made its way into Marion County. The KNIA/KRLS Severe Weather Action Team was on the air from 9:30 to 10:15am as the quickly moving storm made travel dangerous due to the heavy precipitation, cloud cover, and smoke from the Canadian wildfires lingering in the area. Four KNIA/KRLS staff members contributed to the live coverage for Warren and Marion County listeners, which included updates from Weatherology and the National Weather Service. The KNIA/KRLS Severe Weather Action Team is on the air for tornado and severe thunderstorm warnings in Marion and Warren Counties.
