A Pella girls wrestler has been busy competing this summer. Emmalee Spurgeon finished competing in the AAU Scholaric Duals in Orlando as part of one of three teams from Iowa in June. Spurgeon received Bronze All-American honors after an 8-2 weekend, helping the Iowa Minion Nation place 10th.

Emmalee was one of three state qualifiers for Pella High School in the program’s debut season. She’ll be a senior in 2023-24.
