While the racing was canceled at the Knoxville Raceway on Saturday due to rain and more predicted rain later in the day, the 45th class at the Knoxville Raceway Hall of Fame was recognized at a luncheon on Saturday. Travis Cram, who competed weekly, also Glenn Freeland, who crewed on many drivers teams and was a race official, also long time sponsor Don Long, push-truck driver and official Randy Rowley, driver Chris Walraven, who went 15 consecutive seasons with perfect attendance, and Bronson Maeschen, who was the winner of the inaugural Capitani Classic. Maeschen tells KNIA/KRLS Sports about that night and what it meant to race at the Knoxville Raceway.

Maeschen: “It’s so special to get to be apart of that history, and that was a very high moment, and there’s no better moment than that night and we celebrated quite well.”

Listen during Monday’s Radio Sports Page for a montage of all of the inductees and their thoughts, plus listen later this summer and on our race coverage on KNIA for complete interviews as we get closer to the Knoxville Nationals in August.
